PV AMPS is an Independent Engineering Consulting firm specializing in Technical Development, Electrical Design, Capacity Testing, Portfolio Evaluation and Forensics. We provide life-cycle strategy and solutions for stakeholders of Commercial and Utility-Scale Solar + Storage assets.

We are currently searching for an entry level PV Systems Designer to join our team. This position requires no PV experience and provides the on the job training you need to launch your career in the growing Solar industry. We are a customer focused team looking for a hard working, dedicated, team oriented candidate to assist with the generation of layouts, modeling, design and analysis of PV systems. This position is based in the Sacramento area, however remote work is an option. The following is a non-inclusive list of skills and functions we are looking for. It is open to expansion as your role grows.
Essential Functions:
Create Proposal and Permit Level Designs, Calculations, Diagrams and Layouts
Analysis of site production and sensor data for performance assessment
PV System NEC Code Calculations and Modeling to optimize design for cost and constructability
Vendor Research, Interconnection Applications, and Equipment Evaluations
In-field documentation of as-built conditions
Manage all client expectations & complete projects on schedule
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Skills / Attributes Required:
Ability to hand sketch and conceptualize design ideas
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and CAD; AutoCAD LT is used in office
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to work independently with little supervision
High emphasis on customer service, confidentiality and professional image
Effective writing, communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills
Excellent time management, organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
Able to work proactively and collaboratively in person and remote
Familiarity with Python
Creative thinker and tinkerer with a critical and curious mind.
